Standing for God
Today's Meditation: Job 19:27.
“... though my reins be consumed within me”
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: Job 19:25-27
25. For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27. Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
Job testified that he knew His Redeemer lives. The trials in his life made him draw closer to God and he said his own eyes would behold God. How is your testimony today? When small trials come you go to the point of denying God. Some say, “What is the use of being sincere to God?” Others say, “Why should I live a true Christian life?” Yet some others say, “My former life was better than this.” Everyone denies God. Everyone wants to receive only blessings and none wants to suffer for the LORD’s sake. That is not true love for God. Only the true love you have for God will take you to Heaven. Love not God for your material benefits but love God so that you may be found in the glory of God.
Job boldly says, “even if my skin worms destroy my body and though my reins be consumed within me, my eyes will behold God and not another.” After this testing period allowed by God in his life, God blessed him more than his beginning and in his captivity when he prayed for his friends, God gave him twice as much as he had before.
If you are a true and born-again Christian, be willing to suffer for Christ. Tell Him, “Let Thy will be done in my life.” In all your sufferings when you stand for Him, you will be blessed.
Prayer: LORD, till my last breath I will stand for Thee. Amen.
Thought: Endure till the end and receive the crown.
