Proceed where the LORD tells
Today's Meditation: Genesis 46:3
“... fear not to go down unto Egypt...”
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: Genesis 46:2-4
2. And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
3. And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
4. I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
Ever since you became His child, the LORD always wants to do the best for you. When Jacob or Israel undertook his journey with all that he had and offered sacrifice at Beersheba unto the God of his father, God spoke to him in a vision and told him to go to Egypt. He continued saying that He would make of him a great nation there in Egypt and also go with him.
The place does not matter when God wants to bless you. God made Israel a great nation in Egypt which he could not have foreseen. Jacob obeyed and did not question God and went to Egypt where indeed the LORD made of him a great nation. Jacob obeyed and proceeded where the LORD led him.
Obey and go where the LORD leads you. Do not calculate beforehand that God will bless you in a particular place which you have your mind set on. There is a blessing for you only where God wants you to be, no matter which place it is. Sometimes it could be your enemy’s place too but if you obey God’s call and His voice, you will see the blessings. Ask God for His counsel in your life where to go, and where to live. The place to which He directs you will be the best place for you. Fear not and accept His direction.
Prayer: LORD, leadme to Thy correct place of blessing. Amen.
Thought: Where God leads, follow.
