As the Israelites assembled in thier homes the night before the exodus they were told to apply Lambs blood and not just any lambs blood but without blemish upon thier door posts so when the angel of death came to take the first born of the Egypt none of the Israelites would be harmed....God commanded Moses to remember this that was done to the land of Egypt for all generations forever....another side of Passover is when the Israelites were to take Jerico they were commanded to touch not the unclean thing but burn it with fire that they would not become unclean before thier God... Joshua sent out 2 spies to spy out the city...as they arrived at the city they were greeted by a harlot by the name of Rahab she secretly brought ther 2 men into the city and to her house and told them she knew what they were there for for the news had spread through the city that the Israelites were going to attack the city....there fore when the King of jerico heard that this woman had brought in these strange men he wanted to get them, she lied when asked there whereabouts and told the Kings guard that they had gone out another way so the guards went looking elsewhere...all the meanwhile she let them down a scarlet cord down the outside wall to give them safe return to thier camp...in at which time they told her because of her faith and what she had done for them " Get your father ,mother and all your bretheran and thier belongings so when we attack this city you and your fmily will be spared....notice the scarlet cord...as Moses was commanded to paint your door posts with Lambs blood God said then he ( the angel of death ) shall pass over you....about sacrifice....waiting upon God....For Jesus is our Passover Lamb...He is the lamb without blemish...he was without sin...and now due to his sacrifice we are passed over from death to life eternal by his shed blood.
