Nov. 11 SparkysHeart — ACTS 13-15; Veteran’s Day
Sparky's Prayer: Lord God, help us to have the power to witness of Your Word and work in our lives. Help us to never be intimidated by those who wish to stop the work You are doing in our lives. Help us to proclaim Your Word wherever we are and to remember that Satan and his kids are no match for the ones that are under God’s anointing. Thank You Lord, for satisfying the hunger in our hearts for You with Your Power and Truth. In Jesus' mighty saving name, we humbly pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:11-13 — Equipped for Battle
PAUL'S PRAYER: Dear Father God, Warrior against all evil: Help us to put on the full array of battle gear that You supply that we will be able to stand against the schemes of the devil, the commander-in-chief of all evil spirits. Help us to understand that our warfare is not just against flesh and blood, against mere men. It is against the principalities, the powers, and the rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual armies of wickedness in the heavenly places. It is there that they do battle against our soul, against You and Your Son, against the heavenly armies, and against all Your holy people. Therefore let us take up all the equipment which You have given us that we will be able to withstand Satan's hordes in the evil day, and having done everything You want us to do, to stand! In Jesus' mighty saving name and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we humbly pray. Amen.

VERSE: In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. ~ 1 Corinthians 11:11 (NIV)
THOUGHT: "We are all one in Christ Jesus!" Paul told the Galatians (Gal. 3:26-29). Satan, however, constantly tries to divide God's people. One of his most effective means of division has been to divide men and women — whether in families or churches. Paul reminds us that if Jesus is our Lord, we recognize we need each other and we are committed to placing value on each other. Rather than letting Satan divide us through our differences, we choose to unite around our Savior!
PRAYER: Holy Father God, in Whose image we are made, please give us the courage to value and esteem all others as You value us. In Jesus' mighty saving name, we pray. Amen.

WHAT JESUS DID! — Gathering His Chosen!
Matthew 24:29-31 (NLT) "Immediately after those horrible days end, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then at last, the sign of the coming of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the nations of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with the sound of a mighty trumpet blast, and they will gather together His chosen ones from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven."
WJD THOUGHT: Once again, much debate is spent on Matthew 24 trying to decide whether or not Jesus is talking about the Fall of JerUSAlem or the End of Time, or both. The key point, it seems to me, is that when Jesus comes, there will be no doubt that He has come. It will not be a secret meeting of just the "few and faithful" who are in His inner circle. Everyone will know. Those not ready will be terrified. Believers will rejoice because their ultimate salvation and vindication are near. They will get to go home in victory and share in the presence of the Son and the Almighty forever. So under times of great distress, we are not to believe the rumors and innuendo {hints} from Satan that Jesus is not coming. He is coming, and when He comes, it will be in triumph.
WJD PRAYER: Holy Father God, by Your sovereign power, please rescue all of those who believe in You and are looking forward to the coming of Jesus. May His return find us waiting with great anticipation. In Jesus' mighty saving name and the Holy Spirit, we humbly pray. Amen.

WHAT JESUS DID! — Left Alone to Face the Fury
Mark 14:50 (NLT) Meanwhile, all His disciples deserted Him and ran away.
WJD THOUGHT: For me, this is one of the saddest verses in all the Bible. Jesus is completely left alone by those whom He had loved, trained, warned, and prepared. The Son of God will now face the pent-up fury of those who have hated Him. He will bear unspeakable brutality and have no one to stand with Him in His time of agony. He will die alone. Because He has faced abandonment, we can rest assured that He knows how we feel when we are abandoned, betrayed, and abused. However, because Jesus died alone, He has promised us we would never be abandoned. He promises to be with us every step of the way.
WJD PRAYER: Father God, in those times that we feel most alone and abandoned, please help us to remember Jesus and realize that He not only knows those feelings of abandonment, but He also has promised to never abandon us. Thank You for this assurance based on such a costly sacrifice. In Jesus' mighty saving name, we pray and thank You. Amen.

WHAT JESUS DID! — The Stones Would Cheer!
Luke 19:36-40 (NLT) Then the crowds spread out their coats on the road ahead of Jesus. As they reached the place where the road started down from the Mount of Olives, all of His followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. "Bless the King Who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in highest heaven!" But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, "Teacher, rebuke Your followers for saying things like that!" He replied, "If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!"
WJD THOUGHT: Is it not sad that people still get upset when they think that folks are too exuberant {excited} over the presence of Jesus? Even worse, family members of those who come to Christ for salvation often criticize these new Christians for believing great things about Jesus. Little do they know that creation shouts His praise and that the angels of heaven shout out His glory. Let us not let anyone or anything shame us into silence about our glorious Savior.
WJD PRAYER: Father God, Your Son is marvelous, glorious, gracious, and precious to us. We want the world to know that He is not only our Savior, but also the Savior of all people. Give us wisdom to know how best to communicate this truth in each situation in which we find ourselves. However, dear Father God, make our spoken admiration for Your Son and our lives witness to His grace never be withheld because we are afraid of what others will think of us. In Jesus' mighty saving name, we pray. Amen.

WHAT JESUS DID! — No Private Matter
John 18:19-21 (NLT) Inside, the high priest began asking Jesus about His followers and what He had been teaching them. Jesus replied, "What I teach is widely known, because I have preached regularly in the synagogues and the Temple. I have been heard by people everywhere, and I teach nothing in private that I have not said in public. Why are you asking Me this question? Ask those who heard Me. They know what I said."
WJD THOUGHT: Jesus taught openly. He preached to the masses in the countryside. He spoke openly in the Temple courts when He was in JerUSAlem. He did not found a secret society built on deception or private meetings. In contrast, Jesus will be illegally tried at night away from the people. Jesus, however, is the Light. He taught and healed in the open, available for people to accept or reject. In much the same way, the Christian life is not meant to be hidden or kept tucked away. While our goal is never to be obnoxious or pushy about our faith, we also must realize that our Christian life is intended to be demonstrated openly before others, so they can accept or reject it based on its integrity, character, and good deeds.
WJD PRAYER: O LORD God, please help the light of Jesus shine through us. Help our lives to be one that brings You glory and help our attitude show that every good thing we have comes from You. In Jesus' mighty saving name and by the Holy Spirit, we humbly pray. Amen.

Daily Guide to Miracles from Oral Roberts Ministries
Giving Honor — by Richard Roberts — VETERANS DAY
Today is Veterans Day, the day we honor the brave men and women who have served in the U. S. Armed Forces. Historical record shows that the premise for Veterans Day began in 1921, when an unknown World War I soldier was buried in Arlington National Cemetery, overlooking Washington, D. C. Similar ceremonies occurred in England and France, where an unknown soldier was buried in each nation’s highest place of honor.
These memorial gestures took place on November 11, celebrating the end of World War I at 11 am. The day became known as "Armistice Day" and later became a national holiday in America by an act of Congress.
After World War II, however, the country’s leaders realized that peace was equally preserved by all veterans, not just those of World War I. So they made Armistice Day an occasion to honor those who served America in all wars, and in 1954 President Eisenhower signed a bill proclaiming November 11 as Veterans Day.
In 1958, two more unidentified American soldiers were brought from overseas and buried in the plaza beside the unknown soldier of World War I-one from World War II and the other from Korea. In 1984 an unknown soldier from the Vietnam War was buried alongside the others.
Romans 13:7 amp says, "Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due."
We thank God for the men and women who defend our nation, and we honor them on this special day. Their hard work, courage, and sacrifice have made it possible for us to live in freedom.
My Declaration of Faith for Today: Lord God, as I honor those who have given their lives for this country, I honor You beyond all others for dying on the Cross to bring eternal life to me.
Remember, "Something GOOD is going to happen to you!"

Do Not Worry, Pray
Philippians 4:6 — Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and do not forget to thank Him for His answers. (TLB)
2 Kings 19:14 — Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. (NIV)
Matthew 7:7 — Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. (NASB)
Often when I have a problem, I worry about it until I am at my wit's end. Then when all else fails, I pray. Now, why did I waste all this time and energy? It is so plainly written out in all of today's Scriptures, which I have read many times, but when trouble comes, I find myself following the same old pattern. Instead of taking my problem to God first, I attempt to solve it myself. Even after years of answered prayer, there is still a tendency to drag my feet.
Hezekiah gives us a good example to follow. In 2 Kings chapter 19, he received a letter from a messenger of the King of Assyria, challenging him to surrender JerUSAlem or be destroyed. When Hezekiah read it, he went to the house of the Lord and prayed, asking the Lord to save JerUSAlem. Through the prophet Isaiah, God had already promised deliverance. Hezekiah followed instructions. His prayer was answered. Instead of worrying, Hezekiah saved his energy by turning to God first.
Like Hezekiah, we, too, can turn to God first and ask, rather than wasting all our time and energy in worrying about the situation.
We come in agreement with Ivie’s Prayer: Lord God, teach us to follow Your instructions and ask in prayer for what we need, rather than wasting our time and energy in useless worry. Give us the faith to believe in Your Word, to believe that we, too, can receive answers to our prayers, if only we turn to You first, and like Hezekiah, spread out our requests before You. In Jesus’ holy and mighty saving name, we pray. Amen.

WHAT JESUS DID! — All might become such as I am, except for these chains.
Acts 26:29-30 And Paul replied, Whether short or long, I would to God that not only you, but also all who are listening to me today, might become such as I am, except for these chains. [30] Then the king arose, and the governor and Bernice and all those who were seated with them;
