(13) For when God made [His] promise to Abraham, He swore by Himself, since He had no one greater by whom to swear,

God does not expect us to be perfect all the time. He knows that we will make slips and mistakes. What God has promised to give you--it will be given to you. The promises that God has for you will not be taken away because of how you act. This does not mean that you should not repent of your shortcomings. You should deal with the shortcomings through the prayer of confession and repentance. Just because we are walking in grace does not give permission to sin. That is what Paul stated in Romans 8:26-28; Romans 6:1-2. Many of the promises of God depend upon Himself and not you. Your part is to patiently endure the things of this world. Hebrews 6:15. You must remember that God is in control. He does not want you to be slothful--Hebrews 6:12.
Sometimes life gives us such a hard time, we become depressed, lonely, angry, anxious and lost. This means is that we have no hope. Hope is something that is needed by everybody. When hope is in our lives, we can handle the things we have to face every day. It gives strength and courage to face the day's problems and bumps in the road. This is especially true of those who live in the golden years of their lives. We think that our lives are over when we reach this time in our lives. We have to learn to be our trust in the Lord during these years, or else hopeless will swallow us up. We will feel as though we are not needed. The youth of today is looking for your strength and wisdom. They need somebody to guide them during their life
