Exalt God
Today's Meditation: Genesis 32:10.
“I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies...”
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: Genesis 32:9-11
9. And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
10. I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast showed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.
11. Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.
Jacob on his way back to the country of his father thankfully prayed to God and exalted God. He remembered his unworthiness to receive the least of all the mercies and loving kindness of God. He told the LORD, “I crossed Jordan with a staff but now he had become two bands or companies.”
This is how God blesses His children who follow what He says. With a single staff he crossed Jordan and within a few years God blessed him with mighty blessings. Jacob would not have imagined that one day he would return and even if he returned whether he would have so many blessings but the God of mercies did bless Jacob beyond his thinking and that is why his heart exalted the LORD and he told Him he was least worthy of the mighty blessings.
Will not the God of Jacob bless you today? He will bless you more than what you think or imagine provided you look to God alone. He will make you worthy when you are unworthy. Perhaps today God would have blessed you like Jacob. Once you would have been nothing but if God has exalted you beyond measure, you should exalt the LORD and say to Him, “LORD, I am unworthy for what you have done.”God will bless you more. Always remain grateful to your God for He has showered on you blessings more than you asked for or imagined though you were unworthy for the same.
Prayer: LORD, unworthy as I am, I come to Thee. Amen.
Thought: Godmakes the unworthy, worthy
