It was first noted in February when “179 Dolphins – 108 of which were dead – washed ashore in Cape Cod,” Massachusetts. An ongoing scientific investigation has not yet found a cause. Then in March, more than 30 dolphins strangely stranded on a beach in Rio de Janeiro, were fortunately returned to the sea alive. More recently 877 dead dolphins were “washed up on the northern coast of Peru…” Peruvian health authorities suspect a viral infection, but have not confirmed it.
To deepen the mystery, as of May 2, 2012 over 538 pelicans, 54 Boobies, several sea lions and a turtle have been found in the same coastal region of Peru.
There have been viral outbreaks among dolphins in Peru, Mexico and the U.S. in the past. “Higher loads of pollutants” in the bodies of the marine life makes them more susceptible to disease. “Seismic sound waves” from local oilrigs are not believed to be a factor.
Whatever the reason eventually assigned for the mysterious loss of these marine animals, the Bible points to a deep and violent hatred for mankind and all things created by the ultimate foe, Satan himself. All earthly beings suffer from diseases, accidents, disasters, pestilence, etc. The Spirit of God is being withdrawn.
“Not even a sparrow falls to the ground without the Father’s notice. Satan’s hatred against God leads him to delight in destroying even the dumb creatures. It is only through God’s protecting care that the birds are preserved to gladden us with their songs of joy.” Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 8, page 272, 273
