Pray Without Ceasing

1 Thess 5:17Pray without ceasing. 18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I was asked on our website's discussion page, what does it mean to pray without ceasing mean? I am having trouble concentrating on what is "really" important, without seeming selfish. I know God knows what’s going to happen anyways, so, it sometimes feels like its not doing any good. Because this is of such importance the Lord led me to preach a massage on the need to… Continue

Colossians 2:15-17

15. [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].

The word "spoiled" is a Greek verb APEKDUOMAI, and means "to divest wholly oneself, or despoil". One of the words that made up this compound Greek word meant "to strip." Paul is saying is that Jesus totally despoiled or stripped Satan and all his powers.…

The Courage to Confess Christ

“Let us all pray daily for faith and courage to confess Christ before all men. Of sin, or worldliness, or unbelief, we may well be ashamed. We ought never to be ashamed of Him who died for us on the cross. In spite of laughter, mockery, and hard words, let us boldly avow that we serve Christ. Better a thousand times confess Christ now, and be despised by man, than be disowned by Christ before His Father in the day of judgment.”

WHAT IS YOUR COMMITMENT FOR 2010

NEW COMMITMENTS FOR THE NEW YEAR

Philippians 3:13-3:14

NEW COMMITMENTS FOR THE NEW YEAR

Introduction

Well it’s that time of year again when in a fit of optimism many of us make great promises to ourselves about what we are going to do in the New Year that we usually abandon about the second week in January.

Let’s be honest now.

How may of you kept to the diet?

How many of you actually kept going to the gym past February?

So I am not the… Continue

BY HIS LIGHT I WALK THROUGH DARKNESS

"The picture of God's lamp shining on Job's head symbolized divine blessing and success." - Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Commentary

"Those that have the brightest sun-shine of outward prosperity must yet expect some moments of darkness. They are sometimes crossed, sometimes at a loss, sometimes melancholy. But those that are interested in the favour of God, and know how to value it, can, by the light of that, walk cheerfully and comfortably through all the darkness of this vale of… Continue

Sometimes we have a Promise but God wants us to do something with it?

The Mountain in The Land Where We Are to Sacrifice Our Promises

Genesis 22: 1-19 (New King James Version)

Abraham’s Faith Confirmed

1 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”

And he said, “Here I Am.”

2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall show you."… Continue

Colossians 2:13-14

Colossians 2:13. And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions,

I know most everyone here, at some point in their lives, have been in some form of financial debt. Maybe a car or a house, a student loan, etc,... and you owe(d) money to someone or someplace.…

Colossians 2:11-12

Colossians 2:11. In Him also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, but in a [spiritual] circumcision [performed by] Christ by stripping off the body of the flesh (the whole corrupt, carnal nature with its passions and lusts).

True circumcision is not a cutting of the body but a change of heart produced by God's Spirit. Whoever has that kind of change seeks praise from God, not from people." In Philippians,…

Signs of a True Christian- Are You One? By Paul Washer

Let’s open up our Bibles to the book of 1 John chapter two verse seven.

Let’s stand. 1John chapter two verse seven:

Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old

commandment which you have had from the beginning; the old

commandment is the word which you have heard. On the other hand, I am

writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you,

because the…

You have a Promise from God but something is hanging you up?

The Mountain in The Land Where We Are to Sacrifice Our Promises

Read this study slowly or you will skip key parts where He wants to show us we are not really trusting Him or to be more impowered to receive the promises we are given.

Abraham’s Faith Confirmed

Colossians 2:6-10

Colossians 2:6. As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him.

We are not going to get very far from the focus to Christ in any of Paul's' teachings,... specially in his work with the Colossians. At that time, they were being told that, "this faith in Jesus is great stuff,... but you must still do this,... and remember that,...…

Colossians 2:1-5

Colossians 2:1. For I want you to know how great is my solicitude for you [how severe an inward struggle I am engaged in for you] and for those [believers] at Laodicea, and for all who [like yourselves] have never seen my face and known me personally.

I can't imagine everything Paul is referring to here in this passage concerning his struggle. As I share Gods' Word with you here and in the classroom at church, or in bible study, it…

Have a JOYFUL Christmas to all ...

Have a JOYFUL CHRISTMAS

JOY comes by putting Jesus first, Others second, and Yourself last.

Everyone wants to enjoy life. Many people place the source of their joy in what they own, in their reputation, in their status, or in other worldly things. Yet, all of those things are unstable and can easily evaporate, taking joy with them. In the end, we…

Collassians 1:26-29

26. The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations [from angels and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints),

This word, "Mystery" here, or elsewhere in the Bible is not something spooky, abtruse, or a mysterious word as it is in the English. It just means something formerly concealed and then later revealed (Eph. 3:8,9). Paul is contrasting what he is talking about against the Colossian heresy that a…

Some have said that Yeshua is like Moses for several reasons and one of these is that just as Moses received the decalogue upon the mountain from the hand of God (Exodus 20), Yeshua handled the Beatitudes upon a mount also (Matthew 5), but…See More
