Surviving as a Believer in the Midst of Suffering

I decided to do a personal study on the topic of suffering.  I am presently living in an assisted living home since February 14th--Valentine's Day!  I sought the heart of God on why my illnesses began to get worse.  You know what His answer was?  Study the Book of Job.  Well...I finally said--okay.  I did have one objection.  I did not feel as though my situation was as bad as Job's!  Then God reminded me that I had lost everything like Job had except for my two sons.

I…

What is a FRIEND

What is a FRIEND

Think about this for a minute....

If you happened to show up on my door step crying,

I would care!

If you called me and asked

Me to pick you up because something happened,

I would come!

If you had one day left

to live your life,

I would want to be part of

That last day!

If you needed a shoulder

to cry on,

I would give you mine!

This is a test to see who…

He Knows

He Knows

I do not know the future,

I just live from day to day,

I do not know what problems

may pop up along the way.

I do know if I’ll be well

Or taken by some ill,

But one thing that I surely know

My Lord will keep me still

I do knot what burdens I may

be called upon to bear

I do not know how long I have

His precious love to share

I do not know the reasons

For things that happen… Continue

Decisions, decisions

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision’ (Joel 3:14).

Life is a series of decisions, and the most important decision we can make in life is to live for the Lord.

McKenzie Feels Vulnerable + Be Strong and Courageous

McKenzie Feels Vulnerable

To say Sanjid’s house was shabby was a gross misunderstatement. The ancient outer edifice was crumbling and so too were the walls inside. It was highly unlikely that the windows had ever been cleaned. The threadbare linen draped over them, although once…

Assurance of Salvation

I keep reflecting on a statement my pastor made in one of his sermon and i will like to share this with you my friends. He said"we don`t really have to do much when we are about to receive our salvation as Christ did it all but our own part starts from when we have received the salvation and it is WORKING OUT OUR SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLE"(To retain the assurance of our salvation).

When we gave our life to Christ,i believe our name has been written in the book of…

Always Faithful

“Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear” (Isaiah 59:1).

God is always listening and standing by to help those who cry out to Him. He is always faithful!

Sermon Podcast and Lesson Series

Hi All,

The message this past weekend from Pastor Steve was titled “You’ve Gotta Believe”. A personal thought from the message for me is that God tells us that He will be with us. If we just get started, He will send signs that will inspire, help us prepare, and make the necessary changes that are needed to do great things for Him. Here is a link to the Podcast player: FUMC…

Drought?

“God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land” (Psalm 68:6).

Deliverance from oppression is God’s covenant promise to His people. However, those who rebel against God will experience “drought” in their lives.

Words of Care and Concern

Lest some should think that I'm attacking fellow Christians by identifying this little-horn power, please keep in mind that the prophecy is aimed at a system and not individuals. There are sincere, devout Christians in all churches, including the Catholic faith. Daniel chapter 7 is simply a message of judgment and correction upon a large religious institution which compromised with paganism, like…

My Testimony - short version

I grew up in a family of 6 brothers and sisters, we all went to church every Sunday, my parents were very religious. I was brought up in a Methodist church. My father and mother were both dedicated to church. My father would preach and my mother would sing in church and my 2 older sisters too. My father and mother hardly ever spoke to me at all at home, as I was growing up they would only talk about the bible. My mother would only tell me things like I'm…

Maintain Your Position

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations” (Isaiah 14:12).

Satan is a fallen angel and his objective is to destroy mankind by any means necessary. Maintain your position in Christ by obeying God in order to avoid succumbing to the enemy.

Into The Light

“Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light” (Ephesians 5:14).

When the truth of the Word of God enters your heart, it banishes spiritual darkness.

Seeking God, Not things!

The Lord….closed her womb. 1 Samuel 1:5 NKJV

Sometimes the door will open when you understand why it was shut in the first place. Consider the story of Hannah. She wanted a son but God wanted a prophet. When she prayed, “If you give me a son, I will give him back to you all his life…. (1 Samuel 1:11 NCV), God not only gave her Samuel, but also six more children (1 Samuel 2:5). When you pray for a harvest God will ask you to sow a seed. That seed may be something you love and want to… Continue

Pursue

God requires holiness of every Believer. Spiritually mature people pursue God’s way of doing things and shun those things that displease Him.

Don’t put yourself in situations where temptation can get the best of you. Flee those atmospheres and environments that encourage you to sin.

BEFORE YOU/I COME TO JESUS

BEFORE YOU/I COME TO JESUS

According to Luke 9:23, if You/ I come after Jesus You/I must:

(1)   Deny Your/My self

(2)   Take up Your/My Cross daily

(3)   Follow Jesus

In reference to the above, what is to deny your self? Denying your self simply means to surrender all your Human-Centered ability or efforts while performing His acceptable righteousness or simply while following Him. In this You/I will…
