"Then wrought (worked) Bezaleel and Aholiab, and ever wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding for the service of the sanctuary. . ."
Sometimes we think that there is only one way to serve the LORD. We postulate that pulpit-preaching, Bible-teaching, and solo-singing are the exclusive methods of serving God. How wrong we are! I remember a little boy who went with his mother to her church to do "the Lord’s work." They put stamps on envelopes! The puzzled boy… Continue

Happily Ever After
by Pastor Jimmie Warren and Marian Warren
Most movies, books, songs, plays, and especially fairy tales, end with Happily Ever After, don't they?
Beloved brethren, did you know that the Bible ends this way also? I bet you didn't. I know there are a lot of very horrible things in the Bible, especially in the book of Revelation. But, read chapters 21 and 22. Jesus Christ defeats Satan the devil, and God comes down to earth. All, and I mean all, evil… Continue

". . .if not, blot me. . .out of thy book which thou has written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book."
Under Aaron’s leadership, the children of Israel committed a terrible sin. They were a "chosen people"--the ones promised to Abraham many years ago. Foolish, compromising Aaron made a golden calf, like the kind that was worshiped in Egypt. It all happened while Moses was on Mount Sinai receiving the Law of… Continue

Introduction: 1. Psa. 55:6-8 "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away, and be at rest, Lo then would I wonder far off, and remain in the wilderness. I would hasten by escape from the windy storm and tempest"
2. Each of us experience disappointments and sorrows in life. If only I could escape from my problems and rest. The deeper the pain the more elusive comfort is.
3. Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted." It does not meant that we… Continue

He Knocks
Behold I stand at the door, and knock — Rev_3:20
We are all familiar with the picture by a well-known artist which portrays Christ standing at the door. It is one of the few pictures on a text of Scripture which has caught the imagination of the people. We see the door hanging on rusty hinges and covered with the trailing growth of years. And we see Christ, clad in His kingly robes, out in the dew and darkness of the night. And in the one hand He bears a lighted lamp whose… Continue

Hope Thou in God
"Why art thou cast down, O my soul?... Hope thou in God." Psa_42:5
The psalmist here is not talking to an audience. He is talking to himself. "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? Hope thou in God." That is one of the habits of the saints, and it is always a highly profitable habit. It means that we look squarely in the face the things that are lurking in the shadows. And very generally when we do that, with the fears and despondencies that haunt us, things prove not so… Continue

"And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shalt thou make it."
Why did God command the Israelites to use wood from the shittim wood tree to be used in the making of the wilderness tabernacle and its furniture? What was there about that wood that it is mentioned so often in our Bible?
This hard, closed grained wood, from acacia tree, was common in the Arabian desert. It was of…Continue

"And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. . . . to cover their nakedness. . .to minister. . ."
God is interested in the way we dress. Remember how He clothed Adam and Eve after they had sinned!
I In this passage of Scripture, we see that God was interested in the way Aaron dressed from his head covering to his undergarments. So many dress-details were given. Why? The High Priest had a holy position to maintain. People were…Continue

Even David sins....
As David walked on the roof of his house one evening, he saw a beautiful woman taking a bath. Someone told him she was Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, a Hittite soldier off fighting with David’s army. David should have put Bathsheba…

"And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold. . ."
The "mercy seat"--the beautiful mercy seat!--that was the "place" in the wilderness tabernacle where God, in full holiness and majesty, met man! The "mercy seat" was a work of art. It was placed on top of the ARK OF THE COVENANT where "the Testimony," Aaron’s rod, and some manna was kept. The "mercy seat" was crafted from one piece of gold, according to God’s specifications.
Upon this forty-five-inch by twenty-seven-inch… Continue

I invite you to look with me at a sequence of six passages in the New Testament book of Hebrews. These six passages contain the answer to the question contained in the title of this message, “How Does the Supremacy of Christ Create Radical Christian Sacrifice?” But for you to see it, you will need to ask: What is the “great reward,” and what is the “better resurrection,” and what is the joy set before us, and what is the “city that is…Continue

“Strong in faith.”
- Rom_4:20
Christian, take good care of thy faith; for recollect faith is the only way whereby thou canst obtain blessings. If we want blessings from God, nothing can fetch them down but faith. Prayer cannot draw down answers from God’s throne except it be the earnest prayer of the man who believes. Faith is the angelic messenger between the soul and the Lord Jesus in glory. Let that angel be withdrawn, we can neither send up prayer, nor receive the answers. Faith… Continue

My daughter is homeschooled now, but everytime we leave her without supervision she goes hog wild. Tonight she ripped the sink off the wall at the boys and girls club and we are going to have to pay to repair it. Could be upwards of 500 dollars. We don't have that kind of money. She wasn't being mean just dumb...playing in the bathroom, when she should have been in the Gym with the other kids... I'm beyond words right now.

"If thou meet thine enemy's ox. . .going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again."
When I look at this verse, I do not think of the "enemy" like the enemies associated with war. No--I think of neighbors and acquaintances and former friends who are no longer as close to us as they used to be.
If we lived on a farm--and many do--we could envision a cow or a horse going astray. The proper thing to do is to corral that animal and take it back to the owner, even…Continue

"Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless. . ."
How very common it is today to hear the name of the LORD God taken in vain. In the store or on the playground, we hear children from toddlers to teens say "My God!" for any infraction in their plans. They use the name of GOD as a part of punctuation in common conversation, perhaps never knowing that they are defaming their Creator.

Scripture: Matthew 26:36-40
" Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and…Continue
