TESTIMONY FROM A PRAYER CLOTH!!!
In the 17th chapter of the book of Luke Jesus cleansed and healed ten lepers, but only one returned to thank and give glory the God. I know that none of us want to be like the nine lepers who did not give God the glory for their healings. So tonight I’d like to give God the glory for the wonderful things He has done.
About two or three months ago, my husband and I were driving through the neighborhood and we happened to see a young man who was an ex-neighbor, walking on the sidewalk. My husband slowed our car down and we beckoned for the young man,Eddie, to come over to our car window. When he approached we could see that he looked distraught. When we questioned him, he told us that he was now living with his mother and that she was very ill and suffering from a brain tumor. Well immediately we tried to console him and of course, we ended up telling him that God cared for him and that He could heal his mom.
Eddie was not familiar with God or what he could do. However, we persisted in exalting the Lord and we told him about prayer cloths, how that they were pieces of cloths that had been prayed over; and we asked if he would be willing to receive one. He said that he would be glad to receive one. He was then instructed on how to place the cloth on his mom’s head and for her to wear it at all times. Nevertheless, we didn’t have any prayer cloths available so I immediately wrote to Evangelist Charles Mellott and I asked him would he mail Eddie a prayer cloth and naturally he consented.
That was the last contact we had with Eddie, until tonight that is. Tonight my husband went out to get the mail from our mailbox and he heard someone behind him say “do you remember me?” He turned to see who it was and it happened to be Eddie. Amazed and happy to see him, my husband brought Eddie into our house through the kitchen door and when I looked up and saw that it was Eddie, I was, of course, also very happy to see him. His face appeared to be radiant. My husband prompted Eddie to tell me something. So he started telling me how that he had received the prayer cloth through the mail and how he had applied it to his mother’s head. She wore it for a while and in the course of a short time, she returned to her doctor, had more tests and was proclaimed tumor free! Hallelujah! Thank You Lord Jesus! What a testimony!
As we were all in my kitchen rejoicing and praising God, my husband turned to Eddie and asked him if he would like Jesus in his life. Eddie said “yes” and in a beautiful, sober moment we all held hands and we were able to lead him to Christ. Afterwards, as Eddie stood with tears flowing, he told us how he had been a gang member and how he had moved in order to flee retaliation from rival gang members. We prayed, instructed him and then gave him a brand new bible. We can not but help praise God for His awesome work among men!
