Exodus 34:6-7
And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The
Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in
goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity
and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the
guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and
upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth
generation.
Leviticus 4:20
And he shall do with the bullock as he did with the bullock for a
sin offering, so shall he do with this: and the priest shall make
an atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.
Numbers 14:18-20
The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity
and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and
fourth generation. Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this
people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast
forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. And the Lord said,
I have pardoned according to thy word:
Numbers 15:25
And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of
the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is
ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by
fire unto the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord, for
their ignorance:
2 Samuel 12:13
And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And
Nathan said unto David, The Lord also hath put away thy sin; thou
shalt not die.
1 Kings 8:22-50
And Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of
all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward
heaven: And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee,
in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and
mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst
him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with
thine hand, as it is this day. Therefore now, Lord God of Israel,
keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him,
saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the
throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that
they walk before me as thou hast walked before me. And now, O God
of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou
spakest unto thy servant David my father. But will God indeed dwell
on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot
contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? Yet
have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his
supplication, O Lord my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the
prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day: That thine
eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the
place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou
mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward
this place. And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant,
and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place:
and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest,
forgive. If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be
laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine
altar in this house: Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge
thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his
head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his
righteousness. When thy people Israel be smitten down before the
enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again
to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto
thee in this house: Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin
of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou
gavest unto their fathers. When heaven is shut up, and there is no
rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward
this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when
thou afflictest them: Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin
of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the
good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land,
which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance. If there be
in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew,
locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in
the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness
there be; What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man,
or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague
of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do,
and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou
knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the
children of men;) That they may fear thee all the days that they
live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers. Moreover
concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh
out of a far country for thy name's sake; (For they shall hear of
thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out
arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house; Hear thou in
heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the
stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know
thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may
know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever
thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the Lord toward the city
which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for
thy name: Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their
supplication, and maintain their cause. If they sin against thee,
(for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with
them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away
captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near; Yet if they shall
bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives,
and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them
that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done
perversely, we have committed wickedness; And so return unto thee
with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their
enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward
their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which
thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:
Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy
dwelling place, and maintain their cause, And forgive thy people
that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein
they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion
before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion
on them:

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret
faults.
Psalms 25:7
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according
to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.

great.

forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the
Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no
guile.

I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid.

all their sin. Selah. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast
turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.

Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. Rejoice the
soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in
mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
Psalms 99:8
Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: thou wast a God that
forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their
inventions.
Psalms 103:1-14
*A Psalm of David.* Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is
within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and
forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;
who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from
destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender
mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy
youth is renewed like the eagle's. The Lord executeth righteousness
and judgment for all that are oppressed. He made known his ways
unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. The Lord is
merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He
will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He
hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to
our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great
is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from
the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like
as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that
fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are
dust.
Psalms 130:4
But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
Isaiah 1:16-18
Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from
before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek

the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Isaiah 6:6-7
Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his
hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he
laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips;
and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
Isaiah 38:16-19
O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the
life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.
Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to
my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast
all my sins behind thy back. For the grave cannot praise thee,
death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot
hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee,
as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy
truth.
Isaiah 43:25-26
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own
sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us
plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
Isaiah 44:21-22
Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have
formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be
forgotten of me. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy
transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I
have redeemed thee.
Isaiah 55:6-7
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he

and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the
full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by
troops in the harlots' houses.

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man

more.

Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he
turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; If the
wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in
the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely
live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath committed
shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and
right; he shall surely live.
Jonah 3:7-10
And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by
the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor
beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor
drink water: But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and
cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil
way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if
God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that
we perish not? And God saw their works, that they turned from their
evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he
would do unto them; and he did it not.
Micah 7:18-19
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth
by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth
not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will
turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our
iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of

against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in
this world, neither in the world to come.
Matthew 18:23-27
Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king,
which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to
reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand
talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him
to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and
payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped
him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed
him, and forgave him the debt.

I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from

God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance
