What Are You Thinking?
Perhaps you are saying, as we heard one man say,"Well, it doesn't really make any difference where I end up; I'll have friends in both places."

My friend, don't believe that!

Some people seem to think that being in the place apart from God for all Eternity will be one grand party with their "old gang."

Believe me, it's far from being a party. There will be no friendly atmosphere in the place where people are forever separated from God.

Maybe you are thinking, "Of course I want to go to Heaven. Everyone wants to go there."

Or maybe you just haven't thought much about it at all. You are young and you think you have lots of time yet before you have to decide.

Cindy was just 14, with big plans for the future. In the next few months she would be off for Europe with a group for the summer. She had made her plans with her goal in mind.

But one day, in the middle of singing a song, for no apparent reason, Cindy's heart stopped beating. The doctors could never find any physical cause. But because she had made her reservations earlier,at 14, Cindy could step right into Heaven.

Have you made this reservation like little Cindy did. I have. As many of us have. Do not put it off join us the Christian community right away. You will not be sorry you did.

Irene

Peace is not the absence of trouble, it is the presence of God

You are strong... when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave... when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.

You are happy... when you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing.

You love... when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise... when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true... when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive... when tomorrows hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing... when you know that you are but not what you are becoming.

You are free... when you are in control of yourself but do not wish to control others.

You are honourable... when you find your honour is to honour others.

You are generous... when you can give as sweetly as you take.

You are humble... when you do not know how humble you are.

You are beautiful... when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

You are rich... when you never need more than you have.

You are you... when you are at peace with who you are not.

YOU must have a great day!!!!

God gives wisdom to deal with situations beyond our control
in ways that are truly amazing giving insight how to deal
with my husband's dementia

My husband's daughter had Graeme down for the week end
and it was such a relief. I also realized that since she has
3 kids under 10 as I so remember one structures a child's day.

When one is married one expects ones husband to structure
his day accordingly

My husband went along with EVERYTHING she had her kids
doing so I am taking this same approach

example...
shower
hang your clothes up
shave
exercise
come to the table for lunch
get some fresh air...sit out in the front
trim the tree...which he did this morning
have a rest
read your bible
etc

It takes a lot of the stress out of the situation

Prayer According to the Master: What Jesus Said

How many of you enjoy praying? For those that like it, what makes you do it? For those that don’t, what keeps you from praying? Prayer is to be a huge part of a Christian’s life, but it is an often neglected part of everyday Christian life. It does not have to be a boring chore, consist of endless repetitions, or include long lists of desired things.

The ultimate Master of prayer, Jesus, said about it.

Matthew 6:5-15

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
“This, then, is how you should pray:

“’ Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

• To sum up what Jesus said about prayer in His Sermon on the Mount: don’t be loud and obnoxious trying to get others to notice you praying; don’t drone on saying the same things over and over; praise God; seek His will; ask for your needs; repent and forgive; and pray for protection from Satan.
• Jesus said much more than this simple message about prayer, but He laid a foundation here by telling us to go before God in trust and pour out your heart before Him alone with repentance for your wrongs and forgiveness for others’ wrongs.

HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?

In Humility
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’” Luke 18:13
• This verse is part of a parable that Jesus told comparing a Pharisee’s prayer to a Tax Collector’s prayer. The Pharisee had prayed by thanking God that he wasn’t like all those “sinners” out there and by boasting about his religious practices. However, the tax collector acknowledged his sinfulness before God and begged for His mercy, which he knew he didn’t deserve.
• What is the difference between these two prayers? What was the attitude of each man praying?
• We come before God in humility, knowing that we do not deserve the mercy He grants us and in realization of the justice we deserve. We come before Him in thankfulness for His mercy and for Jesus who made it possible for us even to approach the living God.

In Faith
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24
• To come before God in faith means that we believe He has the power to answer our prayers and that He wants to answer them.
• If we doubt God’s power to answer our prayers, we don’t have faith and need to repent and simply believe.
• Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

In His Name
“I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” John 16:23
• Jesus taught that we can pray directly to God, that we no longer needed priests to go before Him for us. We can come to God because of Jesus’ atoning sacrifice, and we are cleansed by His blood and covered in it.
• Since we can come to God because of Jesus, we can ask Him for things directly in the name of Jesus; without Jesus we could never come before God because of our sinfulness.

In Persistence
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1
• The parable that Jesus told was of a widow who had been wronged. She presented her case frequently before the judge who cared nothing for her or for God. Finally, to get her off his back, he gave her what she asked for.
• Jesus said God is infinitely more just and compassionate that this judge and will answer those who cry out to Him day and night because He loves them.
• When we pray, we cannot ask only once and then assume that if God does not answer us He must not want to or must not care. There are many forces in this world working against God trying to steal away His glory and discourage His followers; prayer is entering into that battle, and we must be willing to persevere.

In Groups
“Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:19-20
• This is a famous promise made by Jesus to His disciples. If there are two or more of us praying in His name, He will give us whatever we ask for! And when we gather, He’s right there with us!
• What an awesome promise God gives us and a great encouragement to seek God with our friends and family.

In Seclusion
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.” Matthew 6:6
• Not meant to contradict the previous teaching on how to pray, Jesus also taught that we are not to make a showy display of our prayerfulness in order to gain praise and respect from other people. Instead, we are to seek Him in a secret, quiet place (sometimes referred to by Christians as the “prayer closet”).
• In this quiet place we can be still before God and hear His voice speaking to us without distraction. We can pour out our hearts before Him without worrying about interruptions or being judged or having to do anything but seek Him.
• Even if no one else sees us or knows we’re praying, God sees and hears and answers us in this secret place.

In the Spirit
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” John 16:13
• After Jesus left, he sent the Holy Spirit to us to teach us and to remind us of all His teachings and promises. The Holy Spirit helps us to pray when we are weak and teaches us how to pray effectively.
• Praying in the Spirit mean praying what you feel like God’s Spirit is leading you to pray. Sometimes, if you don’t have words to pray or are unsure of what to pray for, the Spirit can pray through you in new languages that you don’t even know. This is from God and is a very powerful tool to bring about God’s will here on earth. It also builds us up in spirit.

EVER BEEN IN A STATE OF EXASPERATION and NOT KNOW
WHICH WAY TO TURN WONDERING WHAT IS RELEVANT WITH GOD
AMIDST THAT WHICH YOU ARE GOING THROUGH?

PRAYER IS THE AVENUE TO VICTORY WHEN WE HAVE A LISTENING EAR
AND A RESPSONSIVE HEART TO SO APPROPRIATE THE FULL BENEFITS
THAT HE SO REVEALS AND UNFOLDS SO MAY OUR PRAYER TIME WITH
HIM BRING FORTH THE DESIRED RESULTS THAT OUR HEAVENLY FATHER
HAS ULTIMATELY INTENDED

A SISTER PRAYS AND SHARES THAT WHICH GOD HAS UNFOLDED AND ONE
DISCOVERS IT IS THE KEY TO VICTORY AND YOU FIND YOURSELF LIFTED
ABOVE THE ANXIETY AND HOPELESSNESS OF THE DAY TO BECOME AWARE
IN A GREATER SENSE OF HIS LOVING PRESENCE THAT REACHES FORTH
TO BOTH SUSTAIN AND NOURISH

JUST A THOUGHT I HAVE HAD LATELY. JESUS WASHED ALL HIS DISCIPLES
FEET AND BID THEM TO DO LIKEWISE. WHERE WERE THEY WHEN JUDAS
NEEDED THAT SECOND TOUCH TO LIFT AND ENCOURAGE HIM. WHERE ARE
WE WHEN SOMEONE LIKEWISE NEEDS THAT WHICH WE ALONE ARE ABLE TO
DO AND SO EXTEND OF THAT WHICH CHRIST CAME TO ACCOMPLISH. WE NEED TO FOCUS ON CHRIST NOT THE CURRENT PROBLEM OR SITUATION TO
THUS BE FILLED WITH THE BENEFITS OF HIS TOUCH. IS JESUS OUR 1ST LOVE
THAT WE WOULD BE RENEWED AND SO STRENGTHENED THAT OTHERS TOO
WOULD BE REFRESHED.?

SCRIPTURE SAYS WHOSOEVER BELIEVES AND IF CIRCUMSTANCES SEEM
OVERWHELMING LET US BE HIS HANDS EXTENDED THAT TOGETHER WE
WOULD BOTH BE RENEWED

The Lord Is My Strength

The Lord Is my strength
For I am quite weak
And I have the choice
If it's Him who I seek
He's ready and willing
To sort out my mess
But first I must humble
Myself and confess.

If I am clever
I'll look to the past
To all the occasions
That He's held me fast
Being an adult
I come as a child
To seek my deliverance
And be reconciled.
