Today's "Marriage" Scripture by Jason Hunt *March 12, 2010*
 
Lamentations 3:27
And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of His discipline. 
 
 Like so many people, I have countless high light reels of pain in my memory. There are certain places, adds, songs, movies even words that I have allowed to spark pain and sorrow in the past. Don't get me wrong--Jesus has performed miracles in healing me. But I can't help but imagine what life would be like had I been submitted to His discipline much earlier in life. How much could have been prevented.
 God is using all of my mistakes and failures for His glory now, but the sooner we surrender ourselves and accept His divine discipline we will save ourselves much heartache. 2 Timothy 2:22 Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. We must be disciplined in what we watch, listen to, talk about, in jest and do. The repercussions of an undisciplined life can affect generations of family. The price is just too steep to not heed God's warning.
 
Lord, thank You for redeeming us. Thank You for forgiveness and for teaching us through our mistakes. Father, give young husbands a submissive heart. Lead them to a disciplined life Lord in submission to You. Give those with painful pasts the courage to share the reason why they have hope.
In Jesus' name.
Amen.
