Prayers for staying sober
I recently got out of treatment and I promised the Lord Almighty I will stay sober.Its been a month and a half sence Ive drank.And I credit this to reading some verses in Proverbs about drunkeness and Isaiah 40 27:31.I ask for prayers to help out other alcoholics because many are struggling badly.Its got a grip on them they cant break.I found that by sltting under a tree and clearing my mind of all thoughts God's message got through to me.My counselor said being able to that is a gift.I sick of AA also saying My Higher Power as I understand Him.I wish they would go back to saying God.And here is the prayer I picked as my own in treatment when I graduated.But They thatwait upon the Lord shall renew thier strength:they shall mount up with wings as eagles: they shall run and not be weary: they shall walk and not faint.---Isaiah 40 31.So please pray for the alcholics,the runaways from home,the homeless the hungry and those who have given up all hope and are on the verge of taking thier own lives.

I believe the Holy Spirit was there because I felt His Presence that day by the tree.I have no more hate,anger,fear.But that day by the tree I felt a presence that was full of joy,peace,and unearthly love,and its still with me.

Dear Gracious, merciful Father; we thank you for your loving grace and forever forgiving kindness. Father you know our hearts better than we know ourselves, we ask that you will help us in our frustration of trying to master to over come the sin within ourselves that we battle with each day to give us all strength and courage to follow through what you have sent before us on our path of recovery. Precious Father we know we are not alone help us to recognize that our strength is in you and you and we can have "VICTORY "over our additions, our homelessness, our hopelessness, our weariness and famine, Father help us to walk by faith and not by sight, help us to stay or to get into your word to strengthen and build a personal relationship with you. We stand on your promise as you said it would be as it is done. Lord let your Kingdom rein in our hears, let your Kingdom live in society,let our Temples be strong and let your Kingdom come eternally.Father how holy and great is your promise, help us to be busy about the right business in serving you. In Jesus name we pray "Amen"
